Fencing South Australia

There are a whole bunch of rules within the organisation (and fencing as a whole, oh boy, have you seen the FIE technical manuals?) The main things you need to worry about are explained in detail in the AFF Codes of Conduct & the FSA Constitution (download below).

TL:DR

  1. FencingSA reserves the right to change things in any way that we think are for the better (for fencing in SA).
  2. Black cards are a thing. Avoid them. Even as a spectator. Read the dang rules.
  3. Be excellent to each other.

Agree to this and we're good, lets go fencing.


Adelaide Swords Club

By becoming a member of the Adelaide Swords Club, I understand that as a member I understand that I will behave in line with the club's commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all participants,  regardless of their age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any other personal characteristic. 

The code of behaviour includes the following key principles:

  • Respect: All members and volunteers must treat each other with respect and courtesy. This includes treating others with dignity, avoiding discrimination and harassment, and being mindful of the impact of one's words and actions on others.

  • Fairness: All members and volunteers must compete fairly and honestly, and must not engage in any form of cheating or unfair play. This includes respecting the rules of the sport, and not seeking to gain an advantage by abusing the rules or by intimidating or threatening other participants.

  • Responsibility: All members and volunteers must take responsibility for their own actions and behaviour, and must not put themselves or others at risk of harm. This includes following the instructions of coaches and officials and using equipment and facilities in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Integrity: All members and volunteers must act with integrity and honesty, and must not engage in any form of misconduct or deceit. This includes not falsifying information, not making false or misleading statements, and not engaging in any form of cheating or dishonesty.

The ASC expects all members and volunteers to adhere to the general code of behaviour at all times, both on and off the fencing piste. Any breaches of the general code of behaviour may result in disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or termination of membership or participation.
