Membership Frequently Asked Questions

Membership Frequently Asked Questions

I have a question.

Please email us: info@adelaideswordsclub.org.au

What licence do I need? Why have the FSA/AFF licence fees changed? Read more on Fencing SA’s website here.

What has changed this year and why?

This year the club, and Fencing SA, have moved to use Revolutionise Sport as our membership platform. It will make editing and upgrading your membership and licences easy as well as entry to SA competitions.

Why have the licence feeds changed?

While our club has not increased membership fees ($300/$200), the Aust Fencing Federation has, by $20. This means Fencing SA has passed on this cost, however, it has also restructured fees its fees to allow more entries to SA competitions. Read a detailed explanation on Fencing SA’s website.

Is a licence necessary?

Yes, it is compulsory for anyone who fences in SA. While it permits competition entry, it is primarily for insurance.

I paid a licence fee in October last year, do I need to do it again?

Yes, club membership and FSA licence fees reset each year.

I (or child) don’t want to fence this year.

That’s OK. Don’t do anything and apart from one more reminder, we won’t email you again, you can rejoin later this year or next year.

I (or child) might fence in a national competition but I’m not sure yet?

You can easily upgrade by yourself later but ensure it’s not done at the last minute.

Can I add another email address of a parent or carer?

Yes, a membership can have two email addresses. Siblings and family can also set a primary member.

Can I change my details and email address?

Yes, after renewal, log in and go to Account.

As a beginner, what licence is required to have a go at a competition?

The SA State Licence is for $70. It will allow you to not only train at the club but enter Open B, Veterans (40+), Under 17/20 and kids comps from U9-U15.

What are the payment options?

Due to the club fees and FSA licence being automatically split, only credit cards can be used.

Do I have to have a year’s membership?

The club can offer a payment plan to spread the club fee element over several weeks or months. The Licence element cannot be included. So application payment would be $70 and then $300 automatically be deducted from a card over an agreed number of payments. This now replaces the previously offered half-year memberships.

Can I cancel my membership?

In general, no for the club but we do consider all requests. Fencing SA’s licences are not.

How do I enrol my child in a Saturday class?

Click here on our website after renewal. From Term 2 these links will be behind a membership login.
